NUTS: Apple Fends Off Legal Mess, Hackers Continue Rampage

Apple's legal saga continues, as the company tackles several patent cases at once while nursing a week of misfortunes.
The first, a tussle between the Cupertino, Calif.-based company and Taiwanese rival HTC , is still awaiting a verdict from the International Trade Commission's on mutual injunction requests. Both companies claim the other violated copyrights and demand a ban on U.S. sales of each other's products . Whatever the ITC decides, it will do so faster than a traditional courtroom and could become the go-to arbitrator of choice for future warring tech companies.
Apple is on equal footing so far with HTC but has already lost $8 million to Personal Audio . A courtroom delivered the verdict from the same district where Apple is currently sparring with Lodsys over another count of patent infringement; this decision may affect the outcome of that case.
Following its $8 million loss, Apple's top patent lawyer Richard Lutton Jr. announced he is leaving the company for undisclosed reasons . His departure may be disconcerting for Apple as he was intimately familiar with all of the pending cases.
In another piece of bad news for the company, a judge recently denied Apple's request to shorten the patent trial with Samsung. Judge Lucy Koh said she did not think Apple's products were under such immediate threat as to necessitate a speedy court date. Though this statement has no official bearing on the verdict, it may suggest the court is wholly sympathetic with Apple's plea.
The Worldwide Web Consortium , or W3C, is also taking on the Cupertino company over its refusal to freely donate two patents for the consortium's use. W3C wants to make patents covering widget security and safe distribution free throughout the Internet. But Apple is not eager to do so -- giving up the patents could damage its chances for survival in future courtroom copyright battles.
Finally, Apple faces a class-action lawsuit in South Korea for its iPhone and iPad location-tracking policies. Although Apple denies misusing any geolocation data gleaned from mobile devices, the company paid about $100 USD to a lawyer from Mirae Law when he sued for damages. The law firm threatens to bring a class-action suit against the company, which could cost it much more than one grand if many people join.

@justin8779 Ah well, I couldn’t trust any other program with my computer. I once had a bunch of computer crippling viruses and such on my computer that prevented almost all anti-virus programs. They would automatically close them. What surprised me was they’d even stop HijackThis. But after using Trojan Remover, not only could it run, but it uprooted the viruses. I’d rather keep this program than move to a more common one viruses might look out for.
@liateRdnalkcoB It is indeed great program but somehow, it’s not worth it for me. Nowadays I just use other security programs like SpyBot Search and Destroy and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. Those work fine if you know how to use them. I’ve been trying to find a suitable crack or license key but most of them aren’t even working. I’m sure there is one out there but I’ll just have to keep looking.
