UbiSoft Initiates Used Games Online Fee
Ubisoft Entertainment SA (Public, EPA:UBI) has confirmed that it will be utilizing its own online pass system to combat used game sales just as Electronic Arts and others have. The pass will cost $9.99 for US gamers to play online multiplayer with previously owned games.

Sony has not announced the “official” release dates for the upcoming handheld game console Playstation Vita (or PS Vita for short) yet, though there are rumors and speculations here and there regarding that. The closest to reliable source for Playstation Vita release date in North America is its Amazon’s product page that states the “release date” of the device as “December 31, 2011″.
If we look at Playstation Vita product page for both the WiFi only edition and also the 3G/WiFi edition, both product pages clearly state the release date as “December 31, 2011″. On top of that, the launch games like Uncharted: Golden Abyss, LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, and a few more on Amazon.com also state release dates as 31st of December, 2011. Sony hasn’t commented on this yet but it is more likely that this will be the final release date for North America, since it is rumored that the release date for Europe will be November 4th, 2011. Walmart, however, had the listed release date for the device as November 1st, 2011.
However, there seems to be a bit of confusion regarding the speculated release dates for PS Vita. VideoGamer.com reports that an unnamed source, someone working for third-party publisher currently developing an unannounced launch game for PS Vita claimed that PS Vita is NOT likely to hit the market before 2012 in Europe. It is only about five months to the speculated Europe release date (November 4th, 2011), and according to him they would have known by now if Sony is really launching PS Vita in November in Europe.
