Many of the suggestions involve cars. I read that it was invented during World War II, and was eventually renamed “Duck Tape.” All this time, I thought people who called it “duck” tape were making a mistake, like the people I encounter on the Internet who talk about walking down the “isles” in stores, and substitute the word “prolly” for “probably.” Who knew?

I am an 18 year old male who is keen to enter bodybuilding and become a better Catholic. So, I would be ever so grateful if you could give me a few tips on how to give up porn and masturbation (preferably without wearing a chastity belt). Is there a way that you can block all unsuitable websites from your computer, and what about preventing your vivid imagination and impure thoughts from getting the better of you when you are lying in your bed? At the present time, I have abstained for 2 days, and already I am getting these urges. It is a good thing I am using this site, otherwise I may be doing something else.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. What you resist persists, so allow yourself to indulge, just start to limit it. If you know you can have your pleasure, say on Wednesday each week, then you will be able to put it out of your head easier than thinking you can never have it. Eventually, you might be too busy or not interested on Wednesdays and not so hung up on missing it.

You can’t control your thoughts though, you can only control what thoughts you want to focus on. Find some inspirational reading or other enjoyable activities to have on hand so if you start to crave porn, you can switch gears and get focused on other things that might interest you instead.
